Our Services

Manual Therapy

At Boise Physical Therapy 180 we use a variety of highly-skilled, orthopedic manual therapy techniques. We can help restore optimal function for a variety of tissues, including joint, muscle, connective tissue, and nerve. We use a highly hands-on approach to help our patients heal and begin moving again as quickly as possible.

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM)

IASTM is a form of manual therapy derived from deep friction massage. At Boise Physical Therapy 180 we use stainless steel or stone tools with the intent of improving mobility of ligament, tendon, muscle, myofascial, and scar tissue restrictions.

Dry Needling

At Boise Physical Therapy 180 we use dry needling to address myofascial restrictions or muscle trigger points (MTrP) where a fine gauge acupuncture needle is inserted into the muscle tissue. Dry needling has been shown to immediately increase an individual’s pain threshold and ROM, decrease muscle tone, and improve blood flow.

Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM)

Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) is a form of electrical stimulation that utilizes varying, low levels of current to impact specific tissues in your body. At Boise Physical Therapy 180 we use it to promote healing and decrease pain. Each tissue in the body emits its own frequency, and depending on the affected tissue, we can choose a specific frequency to address that area.

Cupping

Cupping is one of the oldest and most effective techniques for releasing toxins from our organs and soft tissue. It has been used for thousands of years to address a variety of ailments, including soft tissue work. Therapists at Boise Physical Therapy 180 use vacuum cupping to create suction and cause the tissue beneath the skin to be drawn up, swell, and increase blood flow to the affected area.

Patient Education

At Boise Physical Therapy 180, patient education includes educating our patients on the nature of their injury, applicable anatomy, and the duration of therapy necessary for a successful recovery. A solid understanding of the condition and treatment helps our patients learn to self-manage and prevent re-injury once through the rehabilitation process. Each treatment session consists of guided, specific activity with a focus on form and mechanics.
